Domestic and Family Violence – Telco Together Foundation resources

January 21, 2026-

The Telco Together Foundation (TTF) announced in late October 2025 that it was ceasing operations. In its communique to stakeholders, the TTF advised that resources related to the DFV Action Framework would be made available through the ATA.

The ATA sought feedback from members who participated in the development of the DFV Action Framework about the relevance of hosting these materials on the ATA’s website in light of the introduction of the ACMA’s Telecommunications (Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Consumer Protections) Industry Standard 2025. Feedback was that now the regulated standard is in place, the materials are largely out-of-date.

To avoid any confusion with obligations under the Standard, TTF’s DFV Action Framework resources will be made available on request, rather than hosted on the ATA website. For anyone interesting in accessing these materials, please email info@austel.org.au

Background

The TTF was set up in 2012 to be a vehicle for social impact for the telco industry.

One of TTF’s work programs was launching the DFV Action Framework in June 2022, with 17 telco CEOs pledging to make a difference and develop their organisation’s Action Plans, well ahead of the now-mandatory DFSV Standard.

The Framework was designed to provide a structured path for any Australian telco to respond to DFV, through policy, strategy, training and awareness. It aimed to help telcos in their efforts to support customers and employees impacted by DFV, to reinforce the guidance and advice already issued by other industry organisations (including the ATA), and to share and build on initiatives already in place within some telcos. It was developed in collaboration with TTF members Telstra, Optus, TPG Telecom, Vocus Group and Aussie Broadband, in consultation with numerous government, consumer and DFV specialist groups.
